UI Update: New PCBA Quote Bar
UI Update: New PCBA Quote Bar
You may have noticed that our instant PCBA quote bar has recently gotten a new look! We've listened to your feedback in order to create an easier to use tool.
Here's everything that has changed:
Smaller profile:
The CircuitHub platform is very data dense. Being able to view as much of that data without having distractions in the way extremely important. We took a look at the screen sizes of our users. Interestingly, we learned that that only 45% of users have a viewport height of at least 1000px. This means that most users are using CircuitHub on relatively small screens (think laptop rather than a large monitor). Previously, the quote bar took up a lot of valuable screen space for many users. We decreased the height of the quote panel to make it less obtrusive on smaller screens.
Quantity input:
We've added a text box to enter the number of units directly if preferred. Please note that the quantity will automatically round up to the next available quantity that can be quoted.
If you still prefer to use the slider it can be accessed by clicking the icon on the right side of the text box.
Lead time selection:
We've removed the lead time slider and replaced it with a dropdown. The default selection will show the longest lead time we are offering. Rather than the quote updating as you slide the lead time, you'll be able to see exactly how the price will be impacted by the various options available.
Final quote: In order to see the cost breakdown on the quote click on the upwards chevron icon.
This is just the first of many new UI changes we plan to implement over the next year. Due to the complexity of our website, we made the intentional decision to roll out these changes in steps rather than all at once. We'll make sure to keep you updated on these changes as they are released. We hope that the end result will be a more intuitive and visually appealing platform that will help you go from project upload to order even faster!
In the meantime, let us know what you think of the new quote bar. We'd love to hear your feedback!
