Mitigating Long Lead Times During the 2024 Chinese New Year for Your PCB Assembly Needs
The 2024 Chinese New Year is fast approaching, and we want to ensure that you are well-prepared to minimize disruptions in your PCB assembly projects. At our Massachusetts-based facility, we take pride in completing 100% of our PCB assembly locally. However, for some projects, we source bare boards from China based on your specific requirements.
It's crucial to note that our Chinese fabricator observes a holiday break from February 5th to February 16th, with potential effects felt two weeks before and after these dates. This means that from mid-January to the end of February, you may experience longer lead times than usual.
Update: We've received word that many freight forwarders will be on holiday from January 20 to February 25 so please keep this in mind when placing orders.
To help you navigate this period effectively, we have some recommendations:
- Plan Ahead: Consider placing higher volume orders either in early January or early March. This proactive approach ensures that you receive your PCBs with minimal delays.
- Partial Orders: If you have an upcoming project but are concerned about the Chinese New Year's impact on lead times, you can opt to source the bare boards now and delay the parts assembly until it's more convenient. Simply reach out to us, and we will work with you to accommodate your schedule.
- Domestic Fabrication: If you prefer to have your boards fabricated within the United States, we can accommodate that request. While the price may be slightly higher, the lead time will be significantly shorter, providing you with peace of mind regarding your project timelines.
We are here to assist you in ensuring that your projects proceed smoothly during the Chinese New Year holiday period. If you have any projects coming up that might be affected by this, please don't hesitate to contact us. Your satisfaction and project success are our top priorities.
